Each month, Miranda van den Heuvel talks to creative people in Luxembourg and says “look, Luxembourg is creative! Here’s how and where!” The September talk is with Marie Suraud, a.k.a. Marie Bulle, creative co-owner of http://www.bertabulle.com.
1. What is creativity?
Creativity is the way to make your life nicer or express how you feel in an aesthetic way.
2. How are you creative?
I’m the co-owner of BertaBulle, I’m the “Bulle” part of BertaBulle; we create paper, stationery and lots of different little objects representing Berta,a character drawn by Ms Berta who lives in Switzerland.
3. Suggest a simple creative activity to our readers that can make them more creative
Always keep an aesthetic eye on what you do: Try to serve nice food on nice plates, to think of all the details when you take a picture, even with your smartphone. Don’t just do things to do things, but try to do them in a pretty way!
4. What are your top 3 websites for creative inspiration?
- 3 blogs I read daily
5. What are your 3 tips to become more creative in Luxembourg?
I love going to Mudam, for a walk in the Petrusse Valley, or enjoying some nice food or drinks in one of the cosy and pretty places in town. I love the shop Ben&Pepper. I also enjoy going for walks with my three kids, and I often take pictures – the basis of my creativity! You can become more creative by taking a new look at your own environment and life! I’m convinced anyone can become more creative by just letting the creativity enter their lives!
6. What’s your suggestion to make Luxembourg a more creative, innovative place?
Luxembourg needs a real place for creative people to gather, talk and sell their products. It could be a creative market, a shop where people would come to meet and share, or a “Creative Tank” that can be found in other cities.
