Strategy for Christmas fever

Call me crazy, but this Christmas I will not go crazy looking for Christmas presents. And I am considering whether to continue with my tradition of sending holiday cards to everyone and then receive some replies ‘next year’.

Dear Santa, this is my wonderful Christmas story

Dear Santa, I haven’t written to you in a long time – but I lost your postal address while moving. I know it sounds incredible – how is it possible to lose Santa’s address? Well.. you travel a lot, you should know how crazy it is to prepare the baggage and leave… Anyway, it’s lucky that you read Clew Magazine from […]

Dear Santa

Dear Santa, I really have everything I could ever wish for, so this year I am going to ask you to bring my share of any gifts to those who really need them. I am thinking especially of those women risking their lives to bring their children to safer countries. Give them some joy and […]

Dear Santa

Dear Santa, I’m making this short, I know you’re really busy with the kids! I just want to tell you I have been good this year and tried most of the time to reeaaally listen to…myself (who else?!) So, here’s my list: ♥ Books, books…more books (you choose – I am not picky) ♥ Shoes. […]

Wrap it in!

For as  long as I can remember, I have taken huge pleasure in wrapping gifts. Each Christmas I change the theme, from glitzy paper to pure white. This year I go for rustic, natural nostalgia.

Silver Cinderella

Now she’s actually not particularly desperate at Christmas […]

Even if new countries and new traditions might be very different from what you are used to, it all comes down to sharing with others. The first Christmas we celebrated abroad was in Canada, with an overwhelming amount of colored lights, […]

This Christmas tree is just stacked stars:  Or make a snowflake garland:   Here is the recipe for vanilla sugar biscuits, makes 24 large biscuits: Ingredients 225g unsalted butter 225g light brown sugar ½ […]

Silent night, holy night – and joy to the world

When did we go from a peaceful calm celebration with family, friends and/or neighbors to this commercial nightmare? I am not going to tell you that Christmas is about baby Jesus. Of course for some it is, and I respect that. In fact, it is a beautiful way of celebrating. But Christmas can be many different […]

O grand Saint Nicolas

When you’ve lived in Luxembourg a few Decembers, you’ll be very familiar with Saint Nicolas – and even more so your children! Here are a few facts (well…) you might not know about him and about this day: Saint Nicolas is the patron saint not only of children, but of prisoners, lawyers,  physiotherapists and singles! Very interesting […]
